I did try Gaim as someone suggested, but the versoin I got didn't seem to support MSN. I presume I need to change the scripts to look on the latest development builds? Also tried AMSN (works nciely on my main machine), but I think it needs GTK or something so wouldn't work under DSL.???

aMSN needs Tcl and Tk, which DSL doesn't have anyway. Gaim needs the MSN module to work, you need to compile it with something like --with-msn.
From what I've seen, MSNre and gtmess are the only possible MSN Messenger clients for DSL.

it is sure that it supports msn, as far as I know. i've read that in several articles in linux magazines..
