I booted the latest version of DSL on a Windows XP pro machine with an NTFS. I was able to mount and copy from the drive. Could not write to it. I was just trying it, did not expect it to work and it did.

Great new 300c_pilot!
Time ago I tried copy files on the computer of my friend but I was not able due, I do think, he has one NTFS partition only. Very frustrating.
Also this open new possibilities as Poorman's Install on NTFS partition.
Can we now confirm to the world that it is possible write NTFS partitions using DSL 3.01 ?

No, you misread his post.

He says, you can READ from NTFS.  You still cannot write to NTFS partitions unless you have a VERY new verison of the NTFS drivers (IE: KNOPPIX version 5.01), or unless you use the "Captive NTFS" interface.

Sure come in handy, though, when your windows OS fails to boot and you can just go in with DSL and grab all your files.  You can even paste text right into your editor.
