I always have to open a root shell and then emelfm. Now, about XMMS. I have that in my remaster, and did add the alarm. Look over my "getting_started_guide" link in my signature to see what all I do have on XMMS. Each time I boot up, I have to enable each plugin, including the alarm clock. I've never tested the alarm clock, but once it is enabled, then the "configure" button is clicked to open up the times for the alarm to sound, etc. --- Lots of options, but as I said, I have not tested it to see if it actually works, or to solve your problem with it. I have it on my to-do list. ---
