While playing around in console mode with some alternative framebuffer stuff, I also noticed that links was missing.
In my opinion, links is essential for the textmode/console user crowd out there with the old hardware or the nonVesa video cards.
It is more difficult for these people to download an extension and install it (hopefully UCI because of limited RAM in the machines) from the command line.
Basically, the way to do it is to read up on the commandline extension installation process using a web browser (like say "links" for example ) Then you visit the myDSL download page using a web browser (like links) and manually download the links.uci extension. You then exit back to the command line and mydsl-load links.uci
and you are now in business, except for that catch-22 thingie
In comparison, it is relatively easy for a GUI user to download an (admittedly better) word processor by using the mydsl gui.
Maybe there is a "third way" that enables BOTH links and TED to be on the base ISO?
