Sorry if this is in the wrong place.. it could belong in embedded or usb boot but since it's a 5-way install it applies to both...
Hello all,
First thanks for the cool distro. I have been playing with it for a few days on a 128 mb Kingston Usb 1.1 drive and this weekend I picked up a 512 Kingston Usb 2.0 drive. I have been searching the forum and have found most of what I need. Here is the setup I have.
1) 512 Mb Pen Drive 2) Increased default Harddisk in qemu directory to 300 mb 3) I am storing all .dsl and backup to the virtual harddisk (hdb)
The virtual harddisk (hdb) looks like it's an invalid backup location when booting directly from the USB key. However when I boot from qemu it is valid and my .dsl extensions get loaded from there.
What I would like to do is store my backup and my extensions in the virtual harddisk (hdb) and have my dsl extensions and settings loaded no matter where I boot from; i.e. qemu or from the usb key.
What do I have to specify in the boot options for the usb key boot to get it to load the dsl extensions from hdb. I have tried hdb (an error is reported saying it's an invalid device) I have also tried /mnt/hdb and that doesn't seem to work either. i.e. it appears to be ignored.
Using qemu I have added mydsl=hdb to the append section and all my .dsl extensions are loaded so it's just when I booting directly from the usb key that I have a problem.
Cheers, --Bill
