I read the instructions... but I guess I'm still confused.
At any rate, I decided that it doesn't matter... I decided that whoever made the decision to not hang onto tons of stuff was right and now the .dsl approach makes sense.
... Or, least can be dealt with, thanks to that script. (This stuff should be listed somewhere, though... it took awhile to sort out, digging through all kinds of forum posts and whatnot.)
Anyway, the upshot -- if anyone wants a .dsl file for tcpdump, let me know. That process was incredibly straightforward and I think that'll meet my needs just fine. Rebuilding the iso seems kinda like overkill, but I'm still lost as to how to get it to recognize the rest of the pendrive.
Is it possible to volunteer to help with the documentation for the project? It seems like it'd be worthwhile to try and collect some of the knowledge here... especially since the end result is so darn cool.
