What was the source of your synaptic install?? .dsl extension or menu choice > Apps>tools>Got Memory&Bandwidth>Synaptic ?
Did you enable apt prior to this, or install the dsl-dpkg.dsl or gnu-utils.dsl files ?
Here is a screenshot from a fresh install I did tonite. I used the "myDSLgui" tool on the desktop, and downloaded most all the extensions available from the table. ( I left out openoffice, due to its size ).
I can run any of the programs, in any order, at any time, without incident. Both the downloaded apps, and the built-in apps that come with DSL.
If you have an extension that you got from another source besides DSL, send it to me, and I'll look it over for you..
