Yeah...that's the same thing I suggested to someone else yesterday when he had a problem with his keyboard in DSL
I think I know what's up. The keyboard layout is a different one than I use in suse. Where DSL it's "us", in suse it's something like "us 105". Xev showed me that the multimedia keys aren't recognized, and the windows keys have a different keycode.
The multimedia keys aren't too important to me right now, but I think I can get it working by switching the Win-key keycodes to the correct number in .Xmodmap. If not, I'll be back here =o)
