I get the folowing errorwhen I try to add a .deb package with dpkg:root@box~# dpkg -i beep_1.2.1-1_i386.deb dpkg: /var/lib/dpkg/status: No such file or directory Posted by roberts on Dec. 09 2006,06:48
You need to use dpkg-restore from the menu. This will load up the Debian files and programs.

looks like I got it working with the enable apt command. (I could not find the app you are talking about)

"Enable Apt" downloads and loads dpkg-restore.dsl

I've the same, my other problem is that the computer who DSL is installed doesn't have any internet access, so what should i do to install debian packages ? Posted by roberts on Dec. 10 2006,16:44
Just as you somehow managed to get the .deb onto your computer, do the same for dsl-dpkg.dsl and then use the "Load Local" button on the MyDSL icon to install it. Or from the command line$ mydsl-load dsl-dpkg.dsl Posted by condor666 on Dec. 11 2006,09:05
Thanks, it worked great.PS : I simply burned it on the DSL cd |
