i have sitting in front of me a toshiba t3400ct with 4mb ram, 120 mb hd, printer port, com port, external floppy drive, and one pcima slot. is there any possible way to create partition from floppy boot up, and is there any way to get dsl installed on this computer? maybe a serial connection through a printer port, or maybie buying a network pcima adapter and hoping it works and install through network. also, what does that include (installing through a network)? thanks! -tnf

No4MB of RAM is not enough to run DSL. You may be able to get an text mode version of linux to work with that computer. Try searching google for "Basic Linux" or "Coyote Linux", for starters. Even they might not work. Posted by rusty on April 24 2004,03:15
www.linux-on-laptops.com has heaps of linux installs on laptops....I saw a couple of 4mb ones but that'll be text only.Still trying to get 1024x600 to work on the toshiba 300ct (dreaming) with DSL which I am typing on now though an Avaya silver world card (get a widgy board for wireless hardware drivers). Ditched the keyboard mouse knoby thing in bios as it made the external wheel mouse to go at turtle speeds. BTW. It rocks, I'm gona upgrade from 32mb to 64mb soon too but somehow I don't think firebird will run any faster....and the cookie problem is more a sessions problem at first glance. Kudos and avagoodone. |
