mplayer-1.0pre8cvs.uciSeems to work but I did get this output; This codecs.conf is too old and incompatible with this MPlayer release! at line 6 Posted by WDef on June 17 2006,07:46
See the bit in the info file about replacing codecs.conf Copy the one from the dir in /opt/mplayer-1.0pre8cvs/doc to /home/dsl/.mplayer Posted by roberts on June 18 2006,18:20

I downloaded and loaded amule-gtk2-2.1.3.dsl. It is a little different from emule for windows, but I navigated okay, and figured it out. I hashed a bunch of files to share. I was able to share part of a file before my computer froze (network prob, not amule's fault). I had a bunch of users as known clients after a short period of time. This version of amule is a huge improvement over the xmule in network repository. The default server.met file worked fine. I was able to share files. I could connect to other clients. In short, good extension. I found no problems. I tested this on DSL-N 0.1RC1. Posted by Winter Knight on June 30 2006,08:39
New extension. Possibly the last one for June, 2006.xpdf-3.01pl2.uci Until it is in the official repository, you can find it, an md5, and an info file at: < http://funky.chipscomputers.info/DSL > This binary opens every pdf that I've thrown at it using DSL-N. The Xpdf that comes with DSL-N chokes on most pdfs. My web server has sent improper headers in the past, causing some browsers, including firefox, to choke on small text files with lots of dots. Firefox for linux downloads these files fine for me. If you have problems, try using wget. wget handles bad headers well. Update: Nope, not last extensions for June. Updated firefox again. Didn't update the version, but fixed a couple of bugs that crept into my first firefox tar.gz. Also created an up to date (for another couple of weeks probably) firefox uci. Enjoy. Downloaded and loaded tor.dslIt works. Like most free anonymizers, it is slow to the point of being almost unusable. But that is the fault of tor itself, not this extension. I think the info file should mention needing to run tor with the mydsl menu, or by calling /opt/tor/tor. But that might be just me. Also, the info file gives incorrect license information. It says GPL. The tor license is actually a "3-clause BSD license". It is included with this extension. It can also be found on the original website. Posted by JB4x4 on July 02 2006,19:27
Found a couple of extensions that need looking at....Nvu-1.0.uci - The user.tar.gz is packaged wrong and causes errors with shutdown, causing information loss (backup.tar.gz) does not save right. It appears that the list of files used to make the tar was not edited right (possibly left the directories in the list (/home, /tmp) Amaya.uci - The "mydsl.menu" entry is loaded to /var instead of /tmp which is not compatible with DSL 3.x Otherwise these two extensions run fine so far. >>Nvu-1.0.uc.. causing information loss (backup.tar.gz)sh*t, sorry about, i've been using nvu on another machine. I'll be re-calling that one. While I'm at it i'll re-call Amaya too. thanks JB4x4. EDIT: okay, I've fixed them (D1.1 updates). (gee I didn't know those empty directories could do so much damage!) Posted by roberts on July 03 2006,23:27
The new updated versions have been posted.

Wasn't sure where to post this.gnu-utils.unc fails miserably under dsl-n rc2. When you load it, you get not found messages any time you type commands like grep or cat. Also, it adds some strange non-existant directory to the path: /home/dsl/.dist/somthing I forgot exactly what something is, but .dist is not there. Also, you can't unload it. If you try, it just loads again. It screws up the /opt directory. It deletes every directory that was there, and now the utils that should be in /bin are in /opt. I think loading it twice is required to do that. My system would not shut down after loading this. shut down probably required some basic utils that are no longer available after loading this extension. I haven't tried it under dsl 3.0x, but I assume if there were problems this bad, somebody would have said something. I also tried samba.unc with dsl-n rc2. It works fine. I would be most cautious trying to use system type extensions across very different systems, a 2.4.26 versus a 2.6.12. I wouldn't expect them to work. Also, those non system/module specific based extensions that do work across dsl/dsl-n are available in a separate repository for dsl-n and should be discussed in the feedback section of fhe dsl-n forums.
