I'm going through a tutorial, which has me save a program and then attempt to run it using the "wish" command. I attempted this from the bash terminal window, but get an error because bash doesn't recognize "wish." What do I need to install for this to run? (I've loaded all the suggested TCL libraries).EDIT: I got it working; I got lazy when entering the path to export, using the tab key, which omitted the version # of the TCLTK directory. Hmm... Let me know what you think of vTCL I actually have not played with it yet.. and had plans on tinkering with it.. I would be curious about your thoughts.Peace ! Mark Posted by jpeters on June 20 2006,15:09
Seems like a real gem; feels a lot like Boreland C++ builder.

Sorry, but I already moved on to TK....way more documentation and simple to learn. Also, a terrific user group (comp.lang.tcl) . Responses to VTCL questions were like "Oh yeah, I remember writing some stuff for them back in 1996..."I just finished rewriting my favorite Borland app while I'm waiting for the one backorded book on VTCL to arrive (the first order was cancelled).... After I hit the connect button to establish connection with a terminal server, I have to click the text (entry widget) box a couple of time to gain focus and my input text won't get displayed until I have to click my cursor a couple of times. If I do not hit the connect button, then everything works fine. Any idea on why such is the case? Posted by jpeters on July 21 2006,06:45
I haven't noticed that problem; I'm not sure exactly what you're doing, but I just wrote a calculator program that outputs data to the terminal (in addition to a label widget) from the text widget (after pushing a button) without losing focus in the text widget. Maybe you could post the code to comp.lang.tcl and get some answers.(I also opened a new terminal window and was able to get back to the text widget with one click). |
