Hi all.

I haven't been playing around with computers much lately since I bought one of the newest generation Sony LCD Projection HDTV sets last weekend and have been tweaking it and watching hi def programming on my new toy.

I bought the TV because it was the ideal choice for my needs and reasonably priced compared to my other options.

But the coolness factor of the set jumped up a bit when I unpacked the user manual and quick start guide.

Nestled in-between the two was a sheet of paper that had

It seems that Sony has used Linux and some associated open source code to build the HDTV set. The specific projects were mentioned like libgcc, ulibc, busybox, etc.

So now I can say that I am watching beautiful Hi Def TV broadcasts thanks to linux and open source.

Very cool. Every day it seems like I find out that something runs on Linux that I never knew of.

Looks like Sony is offering that technology on a lot of devices..

I hope other manufacturers follow suit.
