Can i mount windows shares with this distro ?seems very nice, i wonder if xmms ir really needed but ok. In the package list samba is not named but is the samba client (aka: mount -t vfat) included ? Posted by Silyx on Oct. 06 2003,06:22
You can mount ntfs partitions but you must do the hdinstall and then use apt-get to get samba then you can mount -t ntfs.

....Of course xmms is needed! I mount my ntfs hard drive, and listen to all of my music with xmms, it's very nice Posted by wiak on Oct. 06 2003,08:47
that is what we ( Dakrone,Silyx ) talk about at #DamnSmallLinux @ irc.freenode.org

xmms is okay, until you do a hard-drive install. after that you can say "#### you xmms" and get something better, and still in developement, like xine, or mediaplayer2 i think its called. as for samba, they pretty much summed it up already. |
