While using DSL with my USB-memory inside Windows XP DSL finds that my AMD64 3000+ is a Pentium Pro 850Mhz to 2100Mhz.

Not very funny. Can I create my own kernel and insert it for use with DSL? On my usb-memory for embedded use?

You can if you remaster DSL. This has been covered extensively here on the forums. Search for 'remaster' =) or read the documentation. There is a simple remastering FAQ there. Elsewise, Use the remastering HOWTO Thread here on the Forums. ;)

DSL doesn't "find" your CPU when running in embedded mode.

Instead, DSL finds the CPU that is running inside of your VIRTUAL COMPUTER that is created inside QEMU.

The virtual CPU is a Pentium Pro processor, and the speed that is detected depends on the instantaneous speed of your emulator at the time that the check is performed.

So if you want DSL to see your REAL cpu, run it in native mode at boot time, either from livecd or from USB boot.

Oh...now things make sense to me :) Thank you!
