Hello, Im having problems installing Synaptic can someone please tell me how to do this.Im trying to get synaptics to work/install. I've installed the dsl-dpkg.unc and the gnu-utils.unc and then synaptic.unc but it still seems as if synaptic isn't installed. if i try apt-get install synaptic I get the message;
if i try apt-get install libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2-3.2 it returns:

If you have already installed dsl-dpkg and synaptic, you don't need to try to install synpatic again - just run it.

Sorry, must've missed that.What did you try to run it, and were there any errors? Posted by Nick_Stone on April 13 2007,19:44
Ive tried to start it by typing
I've also tried to find the program it self (i might be looking in the wrong places) but it don't seem to be in bin or anywhere else I've looked for that matter. If it helps, I'm running DSL 3.3 HDD Install Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on April 13 2007,23:48
Does that means a debian-style "full" installation? UNC's are only for frugals.

Thanks dude... that got me thinking again, I was running the debian HDD install, so I wasn't supposed to use the unc. Thanks a bunch!

BTW. Is there anyway to make the Debian type HDD install run UNC's???

There is no need for unionfs in a traditional "full" installation - use .dsl's, etc. If you simply didn't want to re-download the extensions, you could always convert them.
