Blank Screen on bootupForum: Other Help Topics Topic: Blank Screen on bootup started by: Virusx86 Posted by Virusx86 on Nov. 18 2003,07:05
I tried booting DSL off of a CD but ran into a slight problem. As soon as miniroot.gz finishes loading (on the first screen you come too, the one that has a little blurb about DSL being a hacked Knoppix and starts with the line "boot:") the screen resolution changes but after it finishes the screen is just black. The monitor is still getting a signal and i can turn capslock/numlock on and off for about 30 seconds after that, but after that they don't toggle.I've tried 0.4.9, 0.4.10, and 0.5 (Yes, the non-corrupt one) and had the same problem with all of them both on my computer and another spare machine. Try a boot prompt "fb1024x768" without the quotes.
