Hi all,
For what it's worth, I use a Winfast TV 2000xp capture card and have been pleased to see that the "stable" version of xawtv.deb can be installed while running the live cd.The results, given that xvesa is used, are good- I only have a 850 AMD and have to limit capture size to 320 x 240 at 25fps to avoid double frame buffer writes or take down the framerate. The depends of course must be installed in a particular order, and I have found that it's best to have global and home config files (xawtvrc and .xawtv) in place BEFORE doing the final dpkg -i xawtv_3.72.deb.If you don't, dpkg and frontend will hang during the configuring of the package. I have also installed radio and audacity live, but audacity from stable has a libvorbis0 conflict and must be installed with --ignore-depends=libvorbis0. So you can't do oggs, but you can do mp3.
Go for it, Multimediaheads !
