I have a Dell computer that has XP installed, and the partitions set up at the factory are not detectable by Damn Small. So, if I put a /knoppix folder in with XP, in /dev/hde2, the folder cannot be found by a boot floppy. Something like that may be your problem. After you boot up DSL, look in /mnt and see what partitions are listed. Any of them shown in /mnt would be shown in mount.app also. I had to use a tomsrtbt linux boot floppy to find the partitions on the Dell. I run from the CD, and have a usb pen drive for the backup, so it's not a real problem. ---- Anyway, I have thrown this on the table for discussion here, somehow we will get you fixed up! ---- I'll get back if there is anything I can help with later. ----
