I am running into the strangest quirk when customizing a live CD and I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or might be able to point me in the right direction.

I have a customized desktop environment and some tailored scripts in my home directory all backed up to an file backup.tar.gz.bfe.  I have written an iso with this file as well as several mydsl apps in the root directory.  The mydsl apps load but my customizations don't (and I am dead certain of the password, I use it frequently ;-)

Here are the boot time options I have tried:

dsl toram host=smd protect restore=cdrom mydsl=cdrom

I have also tried leaving restore blank as well as using scd0 for the device.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers,
Stu

When using the toram option the cdrom becomes unmounted. Autoscan for backup would not be looking to set the backup device to a read-only device. Doing, so would not allow further backups to occur. If you have a bunch of custom scripts that you want restored, why not make them into .tar.gz mydsl extension? Then the scripts would load up boot and you would still have a functional backup/restore capability. If your scripts need to be encrypted then you could create a script to prompt for your password and then install them via /opt/bootlocal.sh
