fluxbox is in /home/dsl/.xinitrc  It must be the last line in this file.

Ok, here is my .xinitrc, that I use with my remaster, and as you can see, fluxbox
is started as the window manager.
---
# put X windows programs that you want started here.
# Be sure to add at the end of each command the &
grep enhance /proc/cmdline >/dev/null
if [ $? == 0 ]; then
 enhance &>/dev/null &
fi
# using my opening message.
dillo -f /home/damnsmall/html/opening_message.html &>/dev/null &
fluxbox

I have thought about putting FVWM in my remaster, but that is
a lot of work to preserve all of the DSL applications and present them in a
FVWM menu.
I have used FVWM with Redhat, SuSE,  Mandrake, and Debian. I customize the .fvwm2rc file, and here is a link to a list of them:

---
I spent months of spare time working on these, trying to get everything to work as well as I could.
I felt that most people who use FVWM just got their applications to work in the menu, and let it go at that, so I decided to polish mine just for the sake of a really nice .fvwm2rc.
You'll need to scroll down to the FVWM section to get the list. The .fvwm2rc files are easy to try on your system (If you have FVWM) , just rename yours, and place the one you are trying
in your home directory, and restart the FVWM window manager.
Biggest problem with these is that the applications may not be installed on your setup, but comments are placed in the files to allow you to change that as needed.
---
I still use fluxbox, as it is so easy to use, and does what I want.
The main item with my .fvwm2rc's is the pager. I like seeing what I have on
the desktops. The menu would be the same, some FVWM's give you a "start" button, so you have a fluxbox-style floating menu, and a "start" button menu too. One big advantage to FVWM is that you can customize the way the menu appears, font and colors, to match your system. If you have 800x600 you may want a different font that for the bigger screens, for instance. Fluxbox cannot do that, although we do have plenty of color/theme choices.
