I have had several in-laws and friends tell me their monitor "changes" while they are using it. After being invited to observe, I saw the monitor changing tint and focus myself. (usually pinkish or blueish tint, darker, and blurrier focus ) What I found several times was the connection between monitor and video card was being intermittant.. What I did to test was to loosen the screws attaching the monitor cable to the video card slightly, wiggle cable connector gently, and watch the monitor for changes. Sometimes, just the right wiggle would either make the problem MUCH WORSE, but a wiggle in the other direction would make everything nice. If the problem is in the connection, and not down into the cable, I would pull out the video card, and reinstall it back into it's slot. Then clean the pins GENTLY with the corner of a paper napkin, and some rubbing alcohol, and plug the cable back into the video card. Condensation and corrosion slowly builds up on the connectors, and cleaning and working them a bit can restore the connection.
