YAAARRRGH...why is there still no ext3 support...makes me crazy...
Would it be feasable/possible to create a ext3.dsl package?
Brian AwPhuchI don't understand your frustration. DSL has always supported ext3. I have my Frugal DSL on an ext3 partition.I assume this is about the rc?
RC discussion goes in the Release Candidate forum, as I have stated in the sticky in UF.
In order to support booting from an ext3 partition, without mounting initially as an ext2 partition, anyway, support has to be compiled into the kernel.
Ext3 support is rather large (especially for the boot floppies) so it was left as a module.
If you feel the need for it, you can always grab the 2.4.31 source from kernel.org (or, the DSL specific kernel sources should be available in a day or so) and roll your own kernel.

Does it actually use the ext3, or just mount it as a 2 without the journaling...
Remember the only difference between a ext3 and ext3 partition is the journaling...if its not running kjournald then it aint running as ext3
Brian AwPhuchahhh...so i guess it's being mounted as ext2....i never noticed. my bad.Next Page...
