DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: Thunderbird & Abiword
DSL is a great distro. Very portable with all you need really. I certainly like the installscript for Firefox and would appreciate the same for Thunderbird and Abiword if it is possible. It would add a lot to the completeness of DSL. Good luck with the further development of this sleek distro!

I have been checking (as always) different distros and feather linux now has a bunch of different install-scripts. I think this is a good idea (especially for newbies that want to make a HD-install and easily get new functions without tha hazzle of checking dependencies) and it would not cost hardly any space on the live-cd. Maybe the scripts from feather will work in DSL too. Does anyone know???
Just a thought,

Don't forget to check plugins from Flonix distro.(Damn small-based)

Damn Small Linux has always had a slant towards the liveCD user. These download scripts, as pointed out, only help the hard drive installed users. The liveCD users are not going to download everytime. And when, the distro changes so quickly, and with so many new enhancements, users have to keep re-doing the hard drive install and then all those downloads. Doesn't seem pracitical to me. Some users even remaster DSL adding in their apps. But then again, a new release of DSL is just around the corner. Then what redo all that work again. There has to be a better way. There is. Stay tuned.... The next release of Damn Small Linux is just around the corner.
Why don't we have a page of scripts which we can download when we want.
Something we can cut & paste into scite and use when needed.
Just a few more k's saved from the CD.
