DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: Bare DSL

Can we have a really lightweight DSL version?
Just only kernel + Xwindow(Xvesa/Xfbdev) + GNU Util + Fluxbox + hardware detection and make other apps as .DSL(since DSL repository is getting bigger and better)
So we can customize as much as we need.
I don't know if this's really hardwork for John.
I try to apt-get uninstall as much as I can but there are some appz that did not install via apt-get method which I have no idea how to keep track.

Would be nice to have a DSL core, then have the .dsl addons...

This way John would only have to worry about the core release (less programs and stuff) and could streamline the scripting and whatnot...

There aint much you can take off of without it getting waaaay to small (DSL floppy hehe)

With linux, if there is core functionality and the rest are put into the myDSL directory that would be awesome!

With that said, if the hd-install could be a little smoother without having to redo options at every boot, that would kick ass as well. But I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and try and accomplish that feat alone. If anyone else is doing that message me here!

So yeah... myDSL core.iso would be awesome.   a true mini 25MB w/X.org,fluxbox UNCOMPRESSED distro on CD... beautiful!

yes you'd want a folder on the cd for .dsl files, and a program to customize the um menu thing easier (unless there is already a way to do this).

i dont really want most of those apps, so really its just useless. and there doesnt seem to be any easy way to remove them.

Downlaod the whitebox.dsl file and install. It will let you edit the menu without getting dirty in the text file!  :D
