DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: Jus Wonderin...
I'm doing some brush-up research on PDA forensics for a class I'm teaching and I (again) start daydreaming about hacking an IPAQ with linux. so I'm over at handhelds.org and I start running through the how-to and low and behold I find an instalation method from CF...would it be possible-with modifications to run DSL on a handheld?
To be sure the hacking of this is beyond my knowledge,,,but could it be done? Anyone willing to try?
Most target handhelds run either Dragonball CPU or ARM CPU.
DSL is compiled for x86 CPU.
It is possible to create a Debian ARM distro and then modify it so that it contains most of the software packages that come with DSL but it would not be a 5 minute task.
A better option would be to take a distro like Familiar and then strip out the parts that you don't want or need and then add the parts that are missing.
