DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: interesting thought about frugal:
would it be possible to hdinstall dsl to a loopfs and then boot it. then you could have all the stuff of an hdinstall without partitioning.
something like that has bin done loopslak
but its not so easy
problem is the ash thats on the minirt24 cant mount a ordenary loopfs
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, was just a thought, if someone can be bothered to try, good luck
Actually,
such a feature already exists in the "embedded" version of DSL, which creates a "virtual hard drive" inside a file.
If you increase your virtual hard drive size (IE: loop file), it should be possible to do an hd install of your embedded DSL distro. You will need more than 60MB of loopfile space in order to do this. More like 200-250MB
the problem is booting from it
