DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: DSL as Virual machine on USB

Wouldn't it be nice to be able just plug USB stick with DSL on it into the port and start using DSL without rebooting a machine? I mean virtually?

Sort of like MetroPipe had done:

No.
In a virtual, emulated linux environment, DSL is puke slow.
Even on a dual CPU athlon 2.0GHz box, it makes you cry to see it
runs MUCH slower than it does even on my 233MHz laptop.
Screen refreshes are horrible..

This is unfortunately true

Besides, having DSL as the guest OS pretty much defeats the purpose of being lightweight.
I'd rather have DSL as host and rdesktop/VNC to a win box if it's absolutely necessary.

In LPI training course, having DSL as the guest OS is pretty good.
