DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: terse boot process

hello,
i need to modify the boot process not to show the
what DSL does. Ideally, the user should not
see hardware peripheral detections, ram disk allocations,
untarring of backup.tar.gz, etc... Any suggestions are
welcome.

I believe that knoppix at one time had the ability to have a splash screen at bootup.

I never used it but you can google for knoppix splash screen and see what answers exist out there.

Since DSL is based on knoppix 3.4 5-17-2004 it may also work for DSL.
