DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: >2GB support in Busybox

The only reason why i have to use gnu-utils is that Busybox can't handle files >2 GB (no way to delete or copy them without gnu-utils). I read in this forum that the >2 GB file support is a compile-time option in Busybox. Is it right? If it is, is it possible to add this support?
