DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: Rox-filer

Yeah, I originally liked the whole Fluxbox + Rox Filer Pinboard arrangement better than the Fluxbox + Emelfm + XTDesktop arrangement.

But emelfm grew on me so I prefer it as my everyday file manager and also I think that rox + dependendcies takes up more room on the livecd than Emelfm + XTDesktop.

But from a Point-n-Click usability standpoint, Fluxbox + Rox pinboard is a nice combination. The drag-n-drop integration between the Desktop Icon Pinboard and the file manager is cool. It gives the user the same level of Desktop Icon integration in a lightweight package that comes with heavyweight environments like KDE or MSWindows.

I been playing with the pinboard setup all day to see what i can do with it. I don't think it would make sense for DSL to use. Everything is built around emelfm and xtdesk, so it would be a pain in the a$$ to change the .dsl's for a new setup. The thing is, that this is so easy for any user to do on there own that it is always a available option for those who want to use it. I know i bitch and moan alot about the apps that are installed but they are the best choose for the size and i am truly thankfull to robert and jhon and all those who help them to create this fantastic OS.
