DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: wanted: DSL as host-OS for vmwareplayer - getting.

I have done some research in using a host OS for Qemu instead of VMWare. I would suggest that if all possible you do not include a GUI. You have more resources running without.

I was unaware that vmware would run without an Xsession, due to it's front-end's dependance on GTK and the like.

Do you have any solid information about running vmware without an Xserver? I'd be very interested in seeing it.

I also do not believe that VMware player will run without an xserver, but VMware Server (Free Version) will run without xserver. Setting it up would be difficult without xserver, but you can connect with the vmware client from another machine and install & configure a new os.

any further ideas concerning a DSL as a vmplayer-player OS? :>

Here is a link that may be of interest to those who want to run DSL  using VMWare player, i.e. host =Windows , guest = Linux
