DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: Xgl   extension request

Hello everyone , can anyone to make the XGL extensions and related modules for it ( cairo , compiz ...... and the other requested modules ) ?

With respect ,

Aygun

I have just attended a Novell presentation of XGL and it's impressive!
But... it's bloated software and it's not even finished yet!

I don't think it'll ever go on DSL. DSL-N? Who knows?

There's no Debian package, and maybe not in the near future.

Compiling from source?
Prerequisites: Mesa 6.5(CVS HEAD), cairo glitz(CVS HEAD), gnome control-center 2.14 (for compiz gnome-window-decorator) and more...

I don't see it that easy.

Hello there ,

I just want to say that you are wrong , XGL pakages for debian , Open SUSE and Slackware are allready for download.

For debian ( Ubuntu )  see here :

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=127090

and the pakages are here:

My problem is time.I work almost 12 or 14 hours on day so that`s why i don`t have the time to put together all the pieces and make an big DSL pakage.

thenk u guy`s for the work on the DSL.

I wrote in Damn Small Linux review for the My Linux Magazine from Romania.Keep going.

With all my respect ,

Aygun

Ubuntu binaries should't work with DSL. Correct me if I am wrong.
You can test it yourself and prove me I'm wrong.

Even if it did, it's a tremendously big package, I don't think it's in the spirit of DSL. Maybe DSL-N.
