DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: live cdrw

i am currently running dsl on a rw cd.  i don't want to repartion my hard drive because it is almost full and i would hate to lose data or have to reinstall window$ again.  when i have to wipe my system again(surely to be soon) i will install on the hd with its own dedicated partion.  it would be nice to be able to run off the cdrw and save changes and files to the cdrw.  i have heard of other distros to something like this.  i am new to linux and like dsl very much.  thank you.
Puppy Linux supports this with multisession CD burning.

Then don't !
I use it from thumbdrive so I back up my changes to the thumbdrive

much easier!

This had been brought up before.
multisession CD burning is not very nomadic.
Much better to use a device that is.
