DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: Capabilities

Looking at the initial specs on the DSM, i think it is ideal for what iam looking to do but i have software questions

1.  Does the browser have DotNET Framework 1.1 functionality
2.  Is there a PDF reader available
3.  Is there a DWG reader available

I am looking for this in an industrial setting (workshop) ... the sealed nature of the unit and size seem perfect for what we need

Please advise by post or email if you wish

K ... I noticed the Xpdf reader with the tool so the will probably do

But i st ill need the other 2 questions ...

And i cannot seem to get to any of my intranet webs or servers but i can web browse ...

I assume this has to do with network logins but i am a complete Linux newb

Please assist

There is no DWG reader, but you can get a DXF reader from the MyDSL repository.  The program name is called QCAD
The Browser is Firefox so... The Dot.Net Framework, which is a Windows thing, is not in there by defualt.  So really, as DSL is Linux, you should be asking if Mono http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page is implemented and what the differences are between Mono and MS Dot.Net are.

BTW... on the 50 MB Live CD- No, Mono is not implemented.. It's a 50 MB live CD and Mono is 50 MB on it's own so that would be silly..

Although  Dot.Net isn't implemented, XUL http://www.xulplanet.com/ is implemented as is, becuase Firefox is in there ... I just added the cunAform HTML editor to Firefox and it works.

But you cannot open *.dwg files with qcad.  :(
