DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: stripped down DSL

I think they have done a great job on DSL and it is very easy to use and add packages.

but:

have they thought of releasing a stripped down version. When i say stripped down I am refering to the added apps such as editors, browsers and such. Not just X apps but cli apps as well. They have done a good job at allowing users to add apps, why do they need multiple editors and web browsers and filemanagers. Why not have a distro they gets X up and then you can pick and choose which ones you want.

Just my 2 cents.

50Mb is not stripped down enuf ?
IMHO, I think it's pretty darn cool that all those things are stuffed into 50Mb.
It's easy to pick and choose what you want, either click it or don't.
lol

50mb is stripped down but would like to go smaller. But like I said, why do I need multilpe browsers and editors and other apps. Why not strip them out and let me choose the ones i want.

Maybe you can tell me how to remove the unneeded apps?

How are you running DSL?
Live?
Hard Drive?
USB?

I am sure someone here can tell you how to remove them based on how you are running your DSL.

I am running installed on Harddrive. (not frugal install)

would love to be able to go into synaptic and remove the unneeded apps, but they dont appear as installed. ie firefox
